MERCHANT COMPETITION

The Merchant Competition will reward the merchant with the most percentage increase over the last year’s Care Card sales.

The winner will receive:

  • A free ad in next year’s Care Card book
  • Top merchant title
  • Plaque for store

CARE CARD PRE-PARTY GUIDELINES

We encourage merchants to plan a pre-party as it starts to generate “buzz” about your business and gives your customers an extra opportunity to shop using Care Card savings.

Pre-party Care Card discounts are only good during the specified pre-party day and time frame and are only good at the store listed for the party.

Having a pre-party also gives you free exposure from Family & Children’s Services as we will help promote your party with social media and one collective e-blast prior to events (only if your event is submitted by October 18).

Pre-parties DO NOT mean that Care Card starts early. It is just a special event.

IDEAS ON HOW TO INCREASE SALES

Have a Care Card pre-party.

  • Create a Facebook event and invite customers.
  • Have light snacks, wine/champagne, door prizes, drawings, and/or a coupon for a later date.
  • Have a more intimate party with loyal customers.
  • Plan a trunk show during Care Card.
  • Be sure to follow the pre-party guidelines listed above.

Place Care card marketing materials out early.

  • You will receive free marketing materials from Family & Children’s Services. Put these out early so that your customers will begin to plan their pre-holiday shopping.
  • If you run out of materials, you can ALWAYS request more.

Train your employees on Care Card. 

  • Make sure that employees ask every customer if they want to save an extra 20% on their purchase.
  • Care Card is a win-win-win. Customers can save money. Merchants can increase business. Family & Children’s Services can continue to help one in six Tulsans. We heal hurting and abused children, strengthen families, and provide hope and a path to recovery for those battling mental illness and addiction.

Let customers know that you are a Care Card merchant by participating through social media, emails, and/or mailers.

Add the Care Card logo to any advertising you already do in the month of October (commercials, print ads, radio, etc.).
